For Your Information

I would just like to recomend, to all you music freaks out there, a great website. If you're ever in need of chords to a song or you just want the lyrics then you should try out www.chordie.com. It's a very convenient site that I've used for over a year. There's several different search methods and the format is set up great for easy reading. The site list songs anywhere from the classics to christian to underground. You can get songs with words and chords or with tabs. It's so cool and convenient and I thought it was worth sharing.

I'll Tell You What I Want, What I really, really want

You wanna know what I want sooo really, really, crazy like glue bad? I want a good 60's rock album. Yes I do, and I've wanted one for quite some time now. I'm not talking about one of those stupid, typical lolly pop 60's goldie oldies crap cd's. I want one with all the good, edgy rock hits. There were so many talented one-hit-wonders back then, but the problem with that is that there's no way to just buy their cd. I can't find those songs because I don't know the song titles or the band names. It drives me crazy too, you know why, because it's not only extremely annoying that I can't get a cd with those songs, but I also can't hardly listen to 'em on the radio either. This is because the last surviving oldies radio station in the area barely comes in and even when it does a lot of times it doesn't play the songs that I want to hear ( why isn't the world revolved around me?!) Hey I never said you could come back yet, parenthesis guy. Your on probation until further notice, mister. ( Your such a baby. Why don't you ever learn to live in your time own anyway, dork.) Oh, well, excuse me for having a little taste. You know what, I'm not stooping to your immature level, so I'm ignoring you...la,lala, I can't hear you ( Oh, brother). umm.. So, anyways, I just want to hear some good oldies from the 60's. That would make me so very happy.

Thoughts ( Careful, I'll wander )

Why is it cold? I wanna know. It shouldn't be cold, overcast, rainy, dark, depressing and miserable, because it's March! I have a critical need to get outside and play volleyball. I have a need to get outside and play anything, but especially v-ball. I can't take this anymore. How's a guy suppose to get by without some good 'ol competitive v-ball. If I have to watch one more movie to distract my mind from the undeniable fact that I can't play voleyball, so help me, I'll get very angry and... well...tell on somebody, that's what! I can't believe that I've already watched all the movies that I bought a couple weeks ago. That's pathetic, I must have no life ( ya, I don't). Hey, parenthesis comment guy, speak for yourself. I mean, I need support here and all I get from you is negativity and sarcastic comments. Well, frankly, I'm tired of you ( hey, I'm sorry) no, you shut up. I'm not taking any crap from you anymore. Oh ya, you get to throw in a shrewd little comment here and there and everybody loves you while I do all the real work ( but..I.) I said be quiet. That's it go away, I don't want you around anymore. I can do this on my own; I don't need you ( no, you don't mean that do you? Please, tell me you don't mean that!) Oh ya, I mean it alright. Every single word of it, so beat it! Aww, that's better, nice and quiet. Anyway, so where was I? Oh ya, I'm tired of wasting life away on a couch watching pointless comedies. You wanna know something else that's been on my mind? Why must I hang around girls so much. No really, I mean it. I don't feel satisfied in life unless I'm hanging out with girls. I know what your thinking and stop it! I'm not talking about anything to do with attractions. I'm just talking about hanging out with friends in general; to me it's just more fun to be with girls. I get along with them better or so I think, sometimes. Guys can just be, well, just plain boring sometimes. I don't know why this is though, but who cares 'cause I'm happy the way I am, so don't try to change me. Last, but not least, why am I so wrapped up in music? I'm not talking about radio and cd's, no I'm talking about my own music. What's up with that? I hardly listen to music anymore; all I care about is my own stuff. That's crazy, though, and very, like, self-centered or something. Besides, this is bothering me today, because lately I don't like my own music. In fact, I'm not sure why I flaunt it so shamelessly. I heard my own song on a recording last night and was like, oh my gosh, I can't sing. How was I decieved for so long to believe that all that crap was good. Even worse, I made other people listen to it...for hours at a time. All I can say is that I apologize to the many people that had to endure my delusion, I'm so sorry. Anyway this is going on too long, so those are my thoughts for today. Have fun, use a pun.

Rainy Days on Mondays

" Rainy days on Mondays always bring me down" as sang by Karen Carpenter. I woke up this morning to a soft rain outside my window and a gray gloom that seeped even into my room. I got out of bed with a lack of enthusiasm and got ready for work. As I grabbed a glass of orange juice from my kitchen out of my mouth came the melody 'Rainy days on Mondays always bring me down' and I thought, " What a crappy combination". Then as soon as that thought entered my head it left and I felt really cozy. My mood became reminiscent as I transported my mind back to my childhood. That was when a rainy day wasn't always so bad( now most of the time it still was, because it would drive me crazy that I couldn't go outside and exert my energy, but I'm gonna stick to the times that it was okay.). I would wake up to a gentle, but steady, rain outside the house and ly on my couch cuddled in a blanket watching cartoons, such as: tail spin, goof troop, or the pink panther. My mom would bring me some tater tots and grilled cheese sandwiches to eat while I wasted the sleepy day away. I would usally put on a movie like Robin Hood ( the cartoon), any Ernest movie or watch tv like Andy Griffith or maybe some Sportscenter. Eventually when I got tired of just lying around I would go into my room and release creative energy rather( I almost said ruther, it's a southern thing) ( hey, I corrected myself, lay off) than physical. I'd grab some paper and begin jotting down an imaginary business or just create a football league ( team names, locations, stats, the works) or sometimes I would draw a map of an imaginary country ( ran by me , oh course) with city locations and a detailed governing system ( I was a complicated kid). So as I sit here wasting my rainy day in a different way( I'm at work) I wish for a chance to just ly on the couch with some tater tots and grilled cheese sandwiches and watch my favorite cartoons and movies. It'd sure be nice to have a lazy, rainy day today...sigh.

Editor's Note

Hello, Mikes5lives subscribers. I've recently noticed a decline in readers lately. This is a major concern for all of us here at Mikes5lives. Now I do realize that the articles have slowed down a little, but it's hard to be inspired to write more articles when there's not much response. You see our writers are lonely, bored and deprived of friendship. The only light in their lives is to read comments on their hard and well-thought work. So, I know it's not a big deal to you, but, hey, leave a comment; it's for them, they deserve it. I'm sorry to have to beg like this, but it's the only way. You don't have to see what I see. I mean they're a mess these days. They won't eat, won't sleep, they don't even feel like writing anymore. Please write in your comments, motivate these guys, tell them what you think of the website and their writings. If you don't, well, sadly I don't think this site will live much longer. PLEASE DON'T LET IT DIE! PLEE...EE..SS..EE!!! ( Lots of uncontrollable sobbing) ( Ain't ya sad?). Now we here at Mikes5lives know that there are reasons that people aren't visiting our website anymore and we would like to know why. What is it that we can do to keep you as our loyal customer. Tell us. Should we change format, get edgy-er, start dating more ( oh, that's a personal one, just disregard that.). Please send us your thoughts by calling 1-800-some-guys-don't know-when-to-quit or by dropping us an e-mail at ineedattention@allthetime.com. Hey, and if you don't feel like going through all that trouble just leave a comment. Believe me, it would make our writers so very happy. Thankyou for your business. Sincerely, Ed Itor.

It's because I'm Italian isn't it?

Okay, so I was sitting in my living room last night realizing how patheticly boring life is without friends around. It was sometime during a commercial break for Will & Grace ( I told you I was really bored) that I remembered that tomorrow was garbage pick up day. I squealed with excitement and joy, but then came to the conclusion that I was too lazy to take it out that night. I said to myself, with prideful determination, that I would do it in the morning. Yawn!! I wake up this morning with intentions of fulfilling the task, After I showered and dressed, of course. I mean, last time I checked dirty nakedness and garbage didn't mesh well. So, naturally, after showering I forgot. It was okay, though 'cause it was still only 11:00 a.m. at this point. So, I put the garbage out and left to go to lunch feeling good about actually accomplishing the goal ( the guys will be so proud of me and they won't have to come home to a smelly house). After a scrumptous meal, I headed home. Now, as I passed the neighboring houses along my street I saw a perfect row of empty garbage cans, just like it should be ( Oh, I was soooo happy and felt just wonderful). BUT THEN! OH, BUT THEN!!! I pulled into my drive and noticed a disturbing feature next to my mail box. It was a full garbage can complete with an extra bag outside of it. I calmly asked myself, " What just happened! Everyone else's garbage got hauled away, except for mine. Why?! What's so wrong with my garbage? Is it not good enough for ya, huh, huh?!!!". I turned to walk into my house and it was about that moment that I heard the familiar sound of a garbage trunk on the next street. OH YA, It was the same jerks that were too good to haul my garbage away. I'm being completely serious with you, I actually thought about running to that street, with my abandened garbage bag, and throwing it at them. But, I had company with me ( that's right I found someone to hang out with, give me some credit) so I decided just to let it go. " Hey!" I thought to myself. " They probably will make a return run on the street and fix the little innocent mistake, right?". Well to my nieve, little, freakin suprise THEY DIDN'T! What's the big deal, I don't understand. So now I sit at my place of work running the scene in my head, over and over. I finally come to the only logical answer for this awful tragedy, It's because I'm Italian isn't it?!! You think we're all from the slums and we bathe in our own garbage, don't ya?!! Huh, oh glamorous garbage men, is that what you think?!! Oh, you just figured because I'm Italian that I wouldn't mind having garbage left in my yard, in fact, I'd probably use it for landscaping beautification. Or maybe you thought, Oh ritsy little garbage men, that I would be soo busy beating up a woman, being an alcoholic, buying gold chains, killing people for money and making pizzas that I wouldn't even notice. Well I've got news for ya, You sorry, prejudice garbage men, you. I NOTICED!!!!!!! I've decided on a sane and rational solution to this problem and I am sure that it will solve everything. Next week I will simply place a rabid ( and very angry, most likely PMS-ing) racoon in the trash can, so when they get my garbage ( if they feel like it, oh course. I mean I wouldn't want to put them out or anything!) They'll find a sweet suprise waiting for them. AHA,A...HA, A...HA..HA ( very psycotic and evil laugh, by the way).

Happenings

In the recent past: I started a blog and began writing stupid articles on it with hopes that sympathetic readers would comment on them to humor me. I quit school and started to work for verizon ( not sure which is better). I formed a band and we've played a few gigs. Tryed to better my life, but sometimes ruined it in the process. In the present: Sitting at work bored to the point that I signed on to myspace just to look up long lost friends. It's the only way to stay amused, I mean I haven't recieved a comment in quite sometime and I must keep myself preoccupied otherwise I will stick my head out the front door and begin to make fun of random pathetic people as they walk by. In the future: Looks like pretty much everyone is going away, mostly up north ( dang yankees), so I guess I can look forward to a week of individual creativity ( somehow I'm not seeing a safe outcome in this). We ( the band) finally got a call from Rembrandt's telling us that they would like for us to play at the Hunter Museum Cafe on April 19th. This is great news so I'm really excited. If we play there it will mean that we will accomplish all the goals that we set at the begining of the semester ( One of them was to play in Chattanooga on the cool side of town). Unfortunately our talented trombone player, Justin, Is leaving with Voices of Lee that night, so we're either gonna have to play without him or re-schedule ( which is pretty much impossible). So that's some tasty good and bad news wrapped up in one burrito to- go. Oh ya, me and Justin are gonna do a little side act at The Beanery on friday, march 10th. That oughta be fun. The last word: So this ' spring break' week should be a good time for me to clean and reorganize the house, rethink my life choices, contemplate personal makeovers, make and/or lose friends, and fill out applications for every reality show on television including BBC. Will I survive? Who knows? That's what makes it an adventure. So I'll leave all of you spring break travelers with a little word of advice while on the road or in flight. Be careful of lonely, political zebras on their menstrual cycle ( they're not very nice).

Come Away With Me

Come with me to a place so far away, yet, so close. Imagine a place with everything you could ever desire. Picture this place with the most spectacular views and scenery you can find. Where you can sit on the mountain top on a warm spring day and look past the flower covered slope to cast your eyes upon the valley that stretches beyond with an orchestrated sequence of fields, rivers, forests until it reaches another distant range. Where on the other side you can lay sprawled out on the sandy shore with your feet being tickled by the ever so timely tide rising up...and away. As you breathe in the salty air that blows against your sun-caressed face you close your eyes and drift away in the sounds of the crashings waves, seagulls, and sand pipers. Now nestled in between the two sights is a quaint little town of perfection. Everyone is joyful, grateful, loving, caring and prosperous. Their finances are secure, their lives are in order and everyday is sunny and warm. Wouldn't you like to reside in this place; to visit it often? Well, you can and you might already have. That place is God's loving arms, His grace, His presence. This is the only place where you can find yourself in such a tranquil state surrounded by beauty and perfection. Where nothing can take you away from the taste of heaven that you recieve every time that your engulfed in the Father. The world that God created is filled with georgeous wonders, but the place that awaits us will showcase God's illustrious creativity and blow us away! Take time to rest in our Father, 'cause it is there that He tells us His secrets.
